Our History

AC Swim Club was founded in 2019 when Nathan Adrian and Will Copeland took over operations of the Ann Curtis School of Swimming in San Rafael. In 2021 they ventured into the world of USA Swimming when they became involved with the Westside Aquaducks. While the San Rafael location has learn to swim and pre-competition programs, the Petaluma swim team caters towards competitive swimming.

AC Swim Club seems fairly new on paper, but the Westside Aquaducks started in 2006. While running her own learn-to-swim program in her backyard, Dea Ann Joslin found an unmet need for competitive swimming in Petaluma. In true entrepreneurial fashion, she decided to start her own team! For the next 15 years, Dea Ann and the Westside Aquaducks sparked a love of swimming for countless families in the area.

In 2021 when Nathan and Will became involved in the program, they knew the first thing they had to do was help find a great head coach. Luckily, Nathan knew just the guy in Jon Hiett. Nathan knew Jon from his time swimming as an age grouper in the Seattle area and followed his coaching career ever since they graduated college in the early 2010s. After coaching several age group swimmers to the NCAA Division 1 and Olympic Trials level, Jon is ready to lead this team and brings his love and passion for the sport to the Petaluma area to continue to grow what Dea Ann started back in 2006!
